News 7 10% disc on agricultural products at Maha-Agro 2019   Tuesday, 5 th  March,  AURANGABAD            Maha-Agro 2019, State level Agri Exhibition was held at Ayodhya Nagari maidan in the city. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony. The exhibition will carry on from 5 th to 8 th March. News 6 Two sitting MPs from state denied tickets in BJP’s list Saturday, 23 rd March, Aurangabad.                 Sitting MPs Sunil Gaikwad (Latur) and Dilip Gandhi (Ahmednagar) were denied tickets for the forthcoming Loksabha Elections in the BJP’s first national list of candidates announced on Thursday. The list included 16 names from Maharashtra.           Gaikwad had won the 2014 election by a majority of over 2.5 lakh votes. Considered to be close to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he was reportedly at loggerheads with Latur district guardian minister Sambhaji Patil-Nilangekar. Heena Gavit The nomination of Sujay Vikhe Patil, son of senior Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, from Ahmednagar instead of Gandhi was a foregone conclusion ever since he joined the party last week. Sujay, a neurosurgeon by profession, will be making his entry into politics with this nomination. His late grandfather, Balasaheb Vikhe Patil was long associated with the Congress.

News 5 Funds for Garbage Problem had not been used completely by AMC Tuesday, 5 th March, Aurangabad.              Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis announced Rs 86 crore to solve the garbage problem of Aurangabad city. Replying to a debate over the issue in the legislative council, the chief minister said a detailed project report (DPR) would be prepared with the objective of solving the garbage disposal problem in three stages within one year. Rs 86.21 crore have been sanctioned for this, he said. Of this amount, Rs 30 crore will be given by the Centre, while the rest will be provided by the state government. Rs 36 crore, which is the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC) share, too will come from the state's coffers. Defeat in Garbage management of the ruling government            Solid waste management projects for 152 cities worth Rs 1,856 crore have been approved, and projects for another 48 cities would be approved before 31 March.

News 4 AMC lodges police complaint against water pipe damage Wednesday, 27 th March, Aurangabad.                    Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) filed a complaint against an unidentified suspect who had damaged water pipelines which lead to loss of several lakh litres of water. The recent damage in the pipeline was in Cidco and Begumpura.                   Police on Tuesday said an investigation was underway to find out the motive of the crime and to identify the suspects who damaged the pipeline. Waterworks deputy engineer Illyasuddin Khwaja has stated his complaint to Begumpura Police Station. He stated that few people broke the valve of the 350mm pipeline near the Krishna Temple.                Officials and the lineman inquired from locals but could not get any information on how the damage happened, the complaint reads.                  Begumpura Police has registered a case against that unknown suspect under section 3 of Maharashtra Prevention of Defan

News 2 64 instances in Maharashtra in the month of March; Temperature is at 40 degree Celsius  Saturday, 6 th April, Aurangabad.                  In the last decade, the month of March in 2017 and 2019 saw the highest number of instances when the day temperature could touch or crossed 40*C in various weather stations in Maharashtra. In last 10 days of March this year, there were a staggering 64 instances when various locations in the state recorded temperature this high. This was only second to 80 such instances during the last 10 days of March 2017.                  Several stations in state especially Beed, Akola, Pune, Lohegaon, Ahmednagar, Solapur and Parbhani, began recording day temperatures higher than 40*C. On one of these days, even Santacruz in Mumbai touched 40.3*C which is an unusual departure of 7.5 degrees. For a coastal station to touch 40*C is rare.                   K.
