AMC lodges police complaint against water pipe damage

Aurangabad.
                   Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) filed a complaint against an unidentified suspect who had damaged water pipelines which lead to loss of several lakh litres of water. The recent damage in the pipeline was in Cidco and Begumpura.
                  Police on Tuesday said an investigation was underway to find out the motive of the crime and to identify the suspects who damaged the pipeline. Waterworks deputy engineer Illyasuddin Khwaja has stated his complaint to Begumpura Police Station. He stated that few people broke the valve of the 350mm pipeline near the Krishna Temple.
               Officials and the lineman inquired from locals but could not get any information on how the damage happened, the complaint reads.
                 Begumpura Police has registered a case against that unknown suspect under section 3 of Maharashtra Prevention of Defancemene the motive but of Property Act,1995 and IPC Section 427 on Monday.                   Begumpura inspector Rajashri Adhe said that no progress has been made so far on the identification of suspects who caused the damage to the pipeline. The residents of the area said that stealing water could be the motive but after the damage, no one was spotted filling water from there. Some residents said the pipe may have been damaged to create tension between groups.
