Water scarcity problem

   Water scarcity problem

Water plays very important role human's life. It is the most essential component of body. Even day to life is depends on it. The famous quote "Jal hi Jivan He" proving it correct. The meteorological department is expecting worst drought this year. Already Aurangabad is inder Marathwada and it is very badly droughted areas in Maharashtra. The ground water level is much low and the rain in this monsoon was of very few mili literes. The Jayakwadi dam from where the water is supplied to whole city now in the month of October has water storage up to 22%. As per official records, Aurangabad was facing nearly 53% water deficit until latest revival of monsoon. Khultabad (69%), Kannad (62%), Sillod (58%), Paithan, Gangapur (both 56%) and Soygaon (52) are among talukas from Aurangabad district that have been showing maximum rainfall deficit. There is no possibility of rainfall ahead. The problem is taking birth here that what will be the storage percent till the April of coming year? When we see the reality, then drinking water supply after the gap of four days is necessary.
In the city, drinking water is supplied after the gap of four days. Many protests are held in city for the regular supply of drinking water. AMC should make some provisions for the better use in the coming summer. All the scarcity arises due to the low rainfall. private weather observatory at MGM recorded 63mm of rain in Aurangabad. The wake of poor monsoon, Aurangabad district was supplied with as many as 326 tankers with Gangapur (78), Vaijapur (66) and tehsil limits of Aurangabad (50) witnessing maximum water shortage.  The natural cycle of seasons is being distrub by various reasons that affected environment. Air pollutions made nature impure by the emmission of various harmful gases like Green Hous Gases, CO2 by vehicles. These gases leads to depletion of Ozone layer and increases global warming. These all creates imbalance in natural cycle. Even the cutting of trees in large numbers made distrubabce in water cycle. In Maharashtra, specially Marathwada is considered as a drought affected areas. The eight districts of Marathwada including Auranagabd are in very poor condition for the sake of water. All the Kharif crops are being waste grass because of the less amount of water. The rates of them are on hike. Agrarian crisis is being more powerful day by day because of the water crisis.
This crisis does not affect on agriculture but also on the industries. The important area od MIDC ( Maharashtra Industrial Development Corridor) lies in Marathwada. It is badly affected because of the scarcity of water. It ultimately affected on share market and on the economic growth of the state also. Industrial area need water in large quantity. Now its a big issue for them to arrange water and to run their factories.
In cities also, last year summer was dependent on the tankers. But this year, it is signalling that there will be scarcity of tankers also. Again new meters are planning to install in the houses to avoid excess use and keep watch on the usage. But it is not implemented yet. Some days earlier, the inspection was held for the fake water connections in the Shahaganj area. This was trasformed into religious riots and that was of much big cost. Such riotes or protest made hurdules in the administative work of AMC. These kind of violence only because of inspection of fake supply. This incidence is a trailer for the severe violence will take place in the future for water.
As the position of water crisis in Maharashtra, specially in Aurangabad (Marathwada) placed under acute water crisis in state. Aurabgabad is at the top for the worst condition. As almost in 749 thirsty villages and 170 hamltes water is supplied by tankers. The district administration has so far acquired total 2099 wells for filling the tankers used for supplying water in the division to tackle the water scarcity. There is no option that people from Marathwada region has to avoid excessive use of water. Finally, "Save Water & Save Life" can save Aurangabad this year.
