Sitting MPs Sunil Gaikwad (Latur) and Dilip Gandhi (Ahmednagar) were denied tickets for the forthcoming Loksabha Elections in the BJP’s first national list of candidates announced on Thursday. The list included 16 names from Maharashtra. Gaikwad had won the 2014 election by a majority of over 2.5 lakh votes. Considered to be close to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he was reportedly at loggerheads with Latur district guardian minister Sambhaji Patil-Nilangekar. Heena Gavit The nomination of Sujay Vikhe Patil, son of senior Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, from Ahmednagar instead of Gandhi was a foregone conclusion ever since he joined the party last week. News 5 Funds for Garbage Problem had not been used completely by AMC Tuesday, 5 th March, Aurangabad. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis announced Rs 86 crore to solve the garbage problem of Aurangabad city. Replying to a debate over the issue in the legislative council, the chief minister said a detailed project report (DPR) would be prepared with the objective of solving the garbage disposal problem in three stages within one year. Rs 86.21 crore have been sanctioned for this, he said. Of this amount, Rs 30 crore will be given by the Centre, while the rest will be provided by the state government. Rs 36 crore, which is the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC) share, too will come from the state's coffers. Defeat in Garbage management of the ruling government Solid waste management projects for 152 cities worth Rs 1,856 crore have been approved, and projects for another 48 cities would be approved before 31 March.
